Blue Flower | Earthly and Celestial Flowers: A Mystic Symbol of Longing

The Blue Sky, the blue ocean, the blue flower and our daily blues. Blueness prevails in abundance all around us and within us. Color after color beautifies the earth in an unimaginable ecstasy.

In the first chapter of the Orphic-Hermetic novel, Henry von Ofterdingen, the early German Romantic philosopher, Novalis presents his celebrated vision of “ the blue flower”. The blue flower, unveiled in a dream within dream, in the innermost depths of the soul, speaks of the archetypal human being as both infinite yearning and as yearning for the infinite.

Our dusty bodies’ runs and our souls get run down. What does it take to do some maintenance for our spirits and our inner self? How to measure our passion, love, compassion, spiritual being and caring for self and others? How do we appreciate the abundance of fresh air in our bank account without having to make any payments for its usage? How can we keep the beautiful flute of our trachea free of adverse smoke and appreciate the capacity to talk, listen and enjoy music. The music of nature which does not need to be down loaded from any site but readily available without having to pay through pay pal. How do we appreciate the capacity to walk on beautifully circulating yet stable blue earth, which is neither too hard nor too soft, it just gives enough support to walk gracefully, how often we take the opportunity to walk and shed our worries and excessive weight ? There is no charge for this either just having the awareness and value of this gracious natural wonder available to all of us everyday and capture these gifts of life. We are the carrier of beautiful life in this mysterious dust. It’s humbling to know our transient passage in life. May be this perspective will help me and us slow down and rethink our priorities in life.

Daylight, full of

Small dancing particles

And the one great turning,

Our souls are dancing with you,

Without feet, they dance

Can you see them when I

Whisper in your ear ?

All day and night, music,

A quite, bright reed song.

If it fades, we fade.
