All of us at MyLLife are thrilled to introduce one of our 2025 MyLLife Scholars, Ayisha Siddiqa!
I am currently pursuing my Juris Doctor (J.D.) at UCLA School of Law on a full merit-based scholarship, specializing in human rights and international law, and serving as a Public Interest Law and Policy Scholar committed to legal frameworks that advance justice.
I am a three-time published author, with my most recent contribution featured in the anthology What If We Get It Write, which brings together leading voices envisioning a future rooted in justice, care, and climate resilience.
I am the Executive Director of the Future Generations Tribunal, an initiative advancing the rights of future generations. Our first convening took place at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), where we gathered and presented testimony from communities around the world in connection with the Court’s advisory proceedings on climate change and human rights.
I have been named by The Independent as one of the "Climate 100”, the most influential people in climate policy in 2024, for my work on Loss and Damage, decarbonization, and the rights of Indigenous peoples and future generations.
Currently, I serve as one of seven advisors to the United Nations Secretary-General, with a special focus on human rights and the rights of future generations. I also serve as a special advisor to the UN Youth Envoy’s Office, contributing to global youth engagement strategies and intergenerational policy development.
Over the past six years, I have participated in international climate negotiations, with a focus on climate finance and just transition protocols. I currently serve as a commissioner on the International Energy Agency’s Commission on People-Centered Energy Transitions, where I advise on youth inclusion, energy equity, and development justice.
I have been honored by TIME magazine as Woman of the Year for my climate advocacy and named one of Business Insider’s "Climate Action 30" a recognition of global leaders driving bold, systemic change in response to the climate crisis.
