Community Fellow Spotlight: Nilima Hakim Mow

All of us at MyLLife are excited to introduce our 2026 Community Fellows, Nilima Hakim Mow!

Nilima Hakim Mow is a PhD student in Linguistics at George Mason University, where her work focuses on language, community engagement, and support for marginalized and underrepresented communities. She also serves as the President of the Graduate and Professional Student Association at Mason. As an international student, researcher, student-parent, and student leader, she is passionate about using research, advocacy, and service to build inclusive spaces where people feel heard, valued, and supported.

She is excited to work with MyLLife Inc. this summer as part of the Summer Engaged Fellow Program through the Office of Community Engagement and Civic Learning at Mason. Through this fellowship, Nilima hopes to learn more about community-based work, contribute to meaningful initiatives, and support MyLLife’s mission of promoting social and economic justice.

At MyLLife we are asking you to donate $200 per one share of Jabiha for a cow and we will collect these over during month (before May 27) and donate to immigrant families who need resources more than meat to pay for education, rent, healthcare and food.  Hope you will give it serious consideration!
