All of us at MyLLife are pleased to showcase one of our 2026 MyLLife Scholars, Jessica Youssef!
My name is Jessica Youssef, and I am a rising 3L at George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School. I graduated from George Mason University with a B.S. in Criminology, Law and Society with a concentration in Law & Society. This summer, I am interning with prosecutors in the Office of the Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney. In this role, I get to watch cases starting from arraignments, through trials, and ending at sentencing. I research legal issues in criminal law and procedure, draft memos and motions for prosecutors to argue, and assist in drafting jury instructions for trials.
After graduating and taking the bar exam next year, I hope to become a prosecutor in Northern Virginia, both to serve as a zealous voice for victims and to help defendants address the root causes of their criminal behavior. As a Coptic Orthodox Christian, I view the law as a powerful avenue to serve my community and my fellow man. I am deeply honored to be a part of the MyLLife Scholars Program, as our goals are perfectly aligned to promote common goodness through faith, learning, and service. I hope to make lasting connections in this cohort as I prepare for a lifelong career in public service.
