As spring unfolds its vibrant colors, we would like to remind our MyLLife Community of our annual scholarship opportunity – the MyLLife Public Policy Scholarship, which is accepting applications until May 15, 2024. This initiative highlights our dedication to fostering the next generation of leaders in the fields of policy making and government. We invite students across the nation who are passionate about driving positive change to seize this opportunity and embark on a transformative journey.
Our Public Policy Scholarship offers eligible applicants the chance to earn funding of up to $3,500 to support hands-on experience in the public policy field. This monetary assistance not only eases financial burdens, but also serves as a catalyst for empowering students to pursue their aspirations in public service. At MyLLife, we firmly believe in investing in the potential of young minds, recognizing their capacity to shape a better future for all.
One of our core values is inclusivity, and in alignment with this principle, we extend a special invitation to students from Muslim & immigrant backgrounds to apply. While all motivated students meeting the criteria are encouraged to submit their applications, we prioritize fostering diversity and providing opportunities for those who may face additional challenges in accessing higher education.
To be eligible for our Public Policy Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited university program in the United States.
- Have completed at least their second year (i.e., Sophomore) of undergraduate studies.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher.
- Demonstrate placement in an unpaid public policy-related summer internship.
In 2023, MyLLife expanded its Public Policy Internship, offering opportunities to ten exceptional students from various universities in the US. These students interned at esteemed institutions such as the Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, and various non-profits advocating for human rights worldwide. Building on this success, we aim to increase the number of scholarship recipients in 2024, with a broader outreach to universities nationwide.
We invite you to explore the profiles of our past MyLLife Scholars from our 2022 and 2023 cohorts, showcasing their backgrounds, achievements, and contributions to public service. Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of these aspiring leaders. By sponsoring one or more scholars for the summer of 2024, you play a vital role in empowering students to pursue their passion for public policy and government.
