Juneteenth

Juneteenth also known as Freedom Day or Liberation Day is a holiday celebrating and recognizing the emancipation of enslaved peoples in the United States, specifically African Americans in Galveston, Texas who were notified of their freedom. It honors and commemorates the sacrifices and suffering of the African American community and is an important holiday in American history and culture. It is an extremely important celebration of freedom, equity, equality, and universal appreciation and respect.
