Blue Mosque

The Blue Mosque or Sultan Ahmed Mosque is a historical mosque from the Ottoman-era located in Istanbul, Turkey. It was built in the early 1600s during the rule of Ahmed I and has been a significant cultural, religious and historical landmark since then. It is an extremely well designed and architecturally appealing structure that incorporates the surrounding wildlife into its design. The intricacies of the detailing and use of blue Iznik tiles, a unique and traditional Turkish pottery style, gives it the nickname: the Blue Mosque.
